Day 15: Fire Muse

The communication of the dead is tongued with fire beyond the language of the living.
T. S. Eliot
The fire muse stopped by and taught me how to out-create the anger. You see anger is a tricky bitch and she’ll prey on you like nobodies business but, if you out-create her predators she can become you greatest ally, your biggest asset, your greatest warrior.
A few years back I asked a spirit worker to fire cleanse me. My Mom watched from the other room as she drew symbols in fire on my back. “Did it burn?” She asked afterward. “No,” I say. “Fire and I have a great understanding of each other.”
I used to be a really angry girl. Now I channel. Horace said anger is a short madness and I believe it. There is a weird indulgence to being angry all the time and a slight case of feeling overly powerful. An old friend used to tell me, it’s not the angry warriors that win the fight but the ones that first stand alone, take it in, let it flow through them, and channel it out. A mad man will keep at you until he is tired but a calm warrior will fight continuously and calmly, wait out the frenzy and strike when there is weakness.
Anger is a killing thing: it kills the man who angers, for each rage leaves him less than he had been before - it takes something from him.
Louis L’Amour
I’m soft again and using the fire muse for light rather than cleansing. The fire muse helps those in darkness move forward. Fire is passion and creativity, it is language and education, light and life. I’m preparing myself to make magic. To go into the depths of my paintings again. Time becomes a blur once more.
The biggest human temptation is to settle for too little.
Thomas Merton
To the practising alchemist fire is a catalyst. It initiates and completes metaphysical evidence while signifying progression passageways to the higher self, and goals to attain solar embodiment (in both literal and philosophical senses). By accepting and becoming intertwined with fire is to be transformed, cleansed, consumed and elevated out of limitation. By working with fire, we become the Phoenix.
We’re transforming again…
I slept 6 hours.
