Day 4: Finding Small Homes

The only thing I remembered from my dream was this yellow dress.  I’m not even sure it was a dream, perhaps a flash of a picture and then I woke up.  I put the dress on, had my coffee and packed up to find the cafe I have been obsessed with.  Just Kids was on my mind again.  If there’s any book that teaches you about life, art, love, and being an artist it’s that one.  I can’t help but touch the pages knowing that each one is a treasure. I thought about looking for quotes from it.  I thought about it as I wore my Gretel dress.

But I was without Hansel and for the moment I was okay with it.  I knew I’d hear from him at some point.  I just wasn’t sure if he’d tell me he’d be staying in the candy house forever or if he’d try to follow the path of bread crumbs home with me.

Venus Rx was getting to us all.

Healthy Kitchen is located on 30th Avenue and 44th st in Astoria and is run by an amazing woman named Monica.  This cafe makes me want to live in it forever.  Monica and I became fast friends.  She’s magic, the cafe is magic.  I’ve found a home in this little place and it is glorious.

I’m reminded every day that this forty days is not about me being alone but the universe showing me that once you have a romance with the world that every door flies wide open.
